I'm semi-retired with 5 grown-up children who have all moved out of the nest. I have a Double room available close to The Downs, Pubs, Cinemas, Restaurants and Cafes and all public transport. Large garden in a popular leafy suburb. The house is non-smoking but you are welcome to smoke in the garden. You have everything on your doorstep or just around the corner, rental scooters are just outside my front door. You can be in your own private room or are welcome to join around the house. I'm available to ask any questions you have during your stay but allow you to have your privacy. You have a TV and radio in your room. Payment in cash on arrival please.

Very popular area with a large park across the road and the famous Durdham Downs 5 minutes up the road. Cafes, restaurants, cinemas and pubs just a 5 minute walk away.

Let me give you the reason why I ranked it so bad. When I arrived there she said the room that I was supposed to stay at was flooded or something like that. (Meaning it was not usuable). So I had the other room which did not have a view nor a TV. Then after several days it turned out the room that was not available became available and she was still renting it. Meanwhile she was closing the heating at night and opening it on day, which makes completely no sense... Now the kitchen, which was very messy and dirty and I am not exaggerating, she used to let the dishes for days before cleaning them, there was some stain on the chairs, nap. There were wires, homewares everywhere, so disgusting that I was doing my best to avoid the kitchen. I even step on crumbs. She was okay with washing my clothes the first week and then turned out she could not because the bills are "too" expensive. I was paying 180/week, which at that time was more than the average. So now you can imagine how it was staying there, if you wonder why I stayed there it was because I had no choice. In the third week, on Saturday she said that I had to leave, and guess how many days did she let me to. Not even a day, I had to leave on Sunday. Yes I had to find a place in less than a day...

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
