This homestay is in a two bedroom/two full-bath apartment with a balcony in an elevator building. The room has windows facing out on a tree lined street and gets soft morning sunlight. The room has two large closets. The apartment has a kitchen and dining room. Guests will have access to living room, the kitchen, and balcony.
About me: I'm 44 years old and a NYC public school ESL teacher. I have traveled the world and lived abroad so I understand the needs of "homestayers." I'm more than happy to help guests with getting around the city and can even help with providing reduced price Metrocards and advice on what's going on and where to go to make the most of your visit.

About the Area
Our home is located in between the neighborhoods of south Riverdale and Spuyten Duyvil. There are bus stops within a minute walking distance that link to the NYC Subway line 1 at 231st Station and also the Metro North Railroad Spuyten Duyvil Station making Manhattan's destinations easily and safely accessible. Closer to home there are restaurants and shopping a short 5-minute walk away. There are also hiking trails nearby along the Hudson River accessible by foot about 5 minutes away. The neighborhood and building are very quiet and peaceful, you would never know that you are staying just 10-15 minutes from Manhattan with all the fresh air and greenery in this neighborhood next to the river.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
