We are a multicultural, loving and fun family of three and have lived in Vancouver since 1992. We live in an amazing 7 bedroom house (house is only 3 years old) that is only 5 years old and too big for us and we would love to share our space and lifestyle with graduate international students who prefer the comfort and safety of a family environment. We live on the top two floors of the house and have 1 guest room (lock on the door) available for rent on the basement level with it’s own private bathroom, and it’s own separate entrance. The kitchen and laundry (on the basement level) will be shared with 2 other graduate students who have their own separate bathroom. The available guest room downstairs is furnished elegantly with double bed along with a desk, chester drawer and a built-in closet. You are expected to cook your own food, wash your own dishes and must keep common areas clean otherwise you may be charged for cleaning.
The basement floor is accessed by us as we have few items stored there in the storage area and also the Utility room is downstairs so in case of emergency we need to access it without any notice.
Fraser is situated in Vancouver's east-side and is surrounded by beautiful trees, parks, restaurants and lots and lots of grocery stores. Vancouver’s trendy Main neighbourhood with amazing restaurants and coffee shops is less than 3 km away. Our house is within 5 minutes of walking distance to library and buses. There are 3 buses within 2-4 blocks of the house. It takes 35-45 minutes to get to UBC with direct bus (#49 and R4). It is a 5 min bus ride to Canada Line skytrain station and Langara College. There is a direct bus to downtown or you can take the Canada Line. The house is 15 minutes (~9.0 km) car ride from the airport.
We are an ideal homestay for international students as we will allow you the space and environment to thrive and also have fun. We love outdoors, gardening, music, cooking, yoga and practise a positive, fun and loving attitude in general. We also love travelling, meeting with new people and learning about new cultures. We look forward to welcoming you in our home and being part of this beautiful, multicultural city.
We respect each other, will respect you and will expect the same from you. Our home is a unique blend of traditional and modern values where there is no place for any illegal activities (illegal downloading, gambling, recreational drugs, binge drinking etc.). Overnight stays are only allowed with permission. Quiet hours are between 10 PM and 7 AM and must be followed. Smokers are not welcome and we will ask you to leave if we find out that you smoke even outside of property. We believe in sustainability and would expect the same from you. Cleaning duties of common areas will be shared with the other 2 students. The rules must be followed.
Thanks for reading and we look forward to hearing from you!

I was going to stay for 4 months but moved after a month and a half, I wasn't feeling comfortable. The house is SUPER OLD, so it's very noisy and you can hear everyone's conversations and footsteps, as well as when someone is taking a shower or using the restroom. The heating system was installed in 1974, so it is super noisy as well. They told me I was going to share the place with only one roommate but I had to share the place with 2 people. They also had many rules they never told me about when we spoke. If you are planning on studying in UBC just as me, just consider this place is at least 30 minutes away (it can take more time at certain times) and after midnight, there are NO buses going to this part of the city, not from downtown nor from UBC. Only rent this place if you don't mind the noise and the distance.

Je recommande à 100%June 2019
I enjoyed the stay with a very helpful and nice family. Very clean apartment with a separate kitchen and bathroom. You are alone when you want to or you are invited to dinner and movie night. The apartment is located in a quiet part of town with good shopping facilities and bars. Highly recommended.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) and a 25% deposit using a choice of payments: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal. The deposit is collected in advance on behalf of the host to protect against no show or late cancellations (within 7 days of arrival). You then pay your host the balance due on arrival. The 25% deposit payment is made to the host 2 business days after your scheduled arrival date. This deposit payment will only be refunded if you cancel the booking at least 7 full days prior to arrival.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
